The amount of electricity consumed per capita fell 12% in 2010 with the conservation efforts under way.
Conservation efforts include the following:
› The use of energy-saving light bulbs and fluorescent bulbs in warehouses and offices
› Designing offices so as to utilize solar energy at maximum efficiency
› Using filters in our warehouses to prevent the refraction of sunlight
› Educating our personnel on electricity consumption, posting reminders in certain location, and fostering awareness among our personnel.
When all our warehouses are considered, 13,457,185 kW of electricity was consumed in 2009, and 12,950,130 kW was consumed in 2010.
While 6728 kW of electricity was consumed per capita in 2009, this figure fell to 5,886 kW in 2010, conserving 12% more electricity.
Comparing the first half of 2011 to the first half of 2010, there is a notable 3.7% reduction in electricity use. Considering that our warehouses, including automated warehouses, use electricity 24 hours a day, one cannot overstate how significant this reduction is.
